No , we did it . The more I was doing it , I had a signified , like , " No , I do n’t cogitate we need any of this . " I did n’t bring it up at the sentence as I was performing it . There was something cathartic about it because a lot of what we leave out was about Ellie , me telling him what occur to Ellie . At the time , it was n’t even really about the scene for me , as it was this weird double meaning in the scene of say , " She ’s hurt , she ’s anguish spoiled , but she ’ll be all correct . I ’ll take caution of her , " which needs to go unsaid because of form I will . Who else does she have ? At the same clock time , it was less about Ellie in that minute than it was the show itself . There was this unearthly good sense of the passing of the flannel mullein from Pedro ’s keen leadership to Bella ’s , Kaitlyn ’s , myself , and the mass who were fail to be carrying this account frontwards from here — Isabela , Young [ Mazino ] , and everyone . It still was beneficial in some way . In the instant , it was very cathartic to say out loud [ for ] the reality of the yield that we were go [ into ] . In the close , I stand for , what more do you need to say than , " Give Sarah my love . "

What This Means For The Last Of Us

Tommy Said Everything He Needed To Say In This Scene

The Last of Us time of year 2 adapts the devastating moment that Ellie visits Joel ’s tomb , but it makes his headstone even more heartbreaking .

" Give Sarah my love"being Tommy ’s only phone line in the scene was a more concise and powerful originative selection for the show to make . This linebetter utter to how Tommy was feel in that momentand how the deaths of his love will forever weigh on him and influence the choices he make moving forward . The quietness in the rest of the scene also spoke volumes in a fashion that Tommy ’s other line would not have been capable to achieve .

Our Take On Gabriel Luna’s Comments

He Captures Why The Scene Worked So Well

I am glad that the show shoot a more minimalist approach path when it derive to this scene . Too much dialogue center on where the show was lead would have adopt away from this one net moment where both Tommy and the audience get to spend time with Joel before the write up displace forward . A little more time to seat in that heartache and to treat it was necessitate before jumping three months later toEllie in the hospital . The Last of Uscontinues to impress me with its smart narrative choicesthat never lose visual sense of the show ’s heart .
