The Gun Reacher Used in Season 3’s Final Battle Is A Persuader

The book’s title is more than a play on words

The titles of most of Child’sReachernovels are often delightfully aboveboard and blunt , includingThe Enemy , Die TryingorPersonal . Persuaderis one of the more enigmatic title , and apparently refers to Reacher ’s cloak-and-dagger mission where he has to convince his young employers he ’s on their side . It ’s easy to visualize the author having a wry smirk as he wrote this book ’s title down because , while it partly refer to the mission , the shotgun Reacher wield in the ending of the playscript and show is the Mossberg Persuader .

The series even improves slightly on the source material in this regard . In the closing chapter of the novel , Reacher kill Quinn by dig the psychopathic arms dealer in the brainwith a chisel . The show changes the legal instrument of Quinn ’s demise to the Persuader shotgun . See , years prior , Reacher failed to shoot down Quinn with a small - bore smoke to the brain , but with the Mossberg Persuader , he can be sure the job is done right the first time .
