There have been a handful of elusive references to Jyn’sbackstoryand her human relationship with her parent , but the circumstances ring her separation from them and subsequent life as a rebel have been largely left in the dark .

Jyn ’s Father-God Galen Erso ( Mads Mikkelsen ) is a scientist who is one of the most important figure in the edifice of the Death Star , but seems to be more of a surety than an ally to Director Orson Krennic ( Ben Mendelsohn ) and the Empire . The unexampled TV smear forRogue Onesheds more spark on how the relationship between Jyn and Galen will form the greyback ’ game to slip the Death Star plan .

Though it appears that Jyn Erso’smotherwon’t get tons of screen meter inRogue One , Galen Erso will be among the movie ’s most complicated , emotionally pregnant characters . Held against his will and caught in the eye of an apparentpower struggle , Galen is far from a random hostage . Hisdeep history with Krennicwill likely add together to the conflicted nature of the fiber and only make Jyn ’s quest to rescue him and obtain the Death Star plans more challenging .
Mikkelsen has earned more of a repute for playing villainous character , which he excelled at most recently inDoctor Strange , so it came as something of a surprise that he would play the father of a rebel leader inRogue One . But as one of the leading scientists in the building of the Death Star , it ’s likely that he will play a part , albeit reluctantly , in transgression for the Empire along the way . It stay to be encounter how this will affect his character as he bear on to his girl and the insurgent ’ engagement against the Empire , butRogue Onecertainly is likely building up some polar kinsfolk drama .
