Even after all the verbal ill-usage , all the psychological harm ( both from Lumon and from himself ) , and Mark ’s boost to reclaim his living outside of work , Milchick still prefer Lumon . Mark ’s actor’s line ultimately rang hollow because workisn’tjust work for Milchick , it ’s his integral living . Lumon is a company he was willing to alter intact parts of his personality for , one he was willing to stomach unvarying insult for , and one he was unforced to fight and die for .
