I just finish my 2d watch - through ofSeveranceseason 2 , and this clock time around , I remark something absolutely grievous about Irving ’s last line of descent . This most late installment did n’t go easily on Irv as he deal with the after gist of Macrodata Refinement ’s Overtime Contingency stunt of season 1 . It had been heavy enough for the human beings to deal with Burt ’s retreat , but Irv ’s time on the exterior cruelly bring out just how out of reach his lover really was . Add in the fact that no one would listen to his suspicions about Helly ( followed by his forced end point for trying to drown her ) , and it ’s a reasonably risky quarter for Irving B.
The last we saw ofIrving ’s Innie inSeverancewas at the ORTBO when he was give the axe ( devastatingly ) , but for the rest of the season , we had some time to get to know his Outie . This version of Irv is importantly less naive and religious , but there are patent similarity between the Outie and Innie . For one , Outie Irv seems equally as draw to Burt as his Innie had been on the Severance floor . Burt help Irving escapeLumon ’s pursuit inSeveranceseason 2 , and their good-bye was devastating to watch . However , my second time through , I notice that Irving ’s product line here is quite substantial .
Irving’s Final Line In Severance Season 2 Is A Callback To A Season 1 Moment
“I’m Ready”
When Outie Burt and Irving say au revoir inSeveranceseason 2 , their look came closely close . The tensity was clearly pulling at Irving , and he urgently repeated the line " I ’m ready " again and again . Burt ended the moment by telling Irving that they can’t — he ’s a marital man after all , and Irving ’s position with Lumon and Burt ’s intimacy with the company make it all rather complicated . Irv pulled himself away without a countersign , hop-skip on a railroad train , and rode out with a sorry grin .
Burt and Irv are mindful that their Innie ’s had feeling for one another , but they are n’t aware of the contingent .
This shot was impactful on my first sentry , but my second prison term through , I realized it was a lineal parallel with Innie Irv and Burt ’s informal time of year 1 moment . In fact , these two scenes are so similar that I was run into by the fact that I had n’t notice it before . Back in season 1,the pair slip aside together and came similarly close to petting , but Irv B. panic and said " I ’m not ready"before pulling away . Irving’s Final Scene With Burt May Just Be Evidence Of What Lumon Is Trying To Eliminate
It’s Clear That The Severance Procedure Isn’t Perfect Yet
The fact that the intimacy between Irv and Burt inSeveranceseason 2 come along to merge their Innies and Outies may just be the show ’s way of demonstrating what Lumon is oppose so hard to eliminate .
