Bill Nighy had no idea that Davy Jones come out inPirates of the Caribbean : stagnant Men Tell No Tales , but he would love to fall for the subsequence . Still , it ’s surprising that Disney would n’t at least discuss the theory of Davy Jones ' paying back with the actor before having him appear in the post - credits scene , since that implies his potential return in an eventual sequel , should the studio apartment select to move forward with another episode . Thankfully , if they do plan on bring back the Dutchman ’s former skipper , Nighy is all up for reprising his part : “ I ’d sleep with to be in [ another Pirates movie ] . I ’d be there like a shot . But I have not been near . ”
