The psychological thriller follows the occult connective between a nestling psychologist and widowman named Eli and a disruptive young son in the foster maintenance system name Noah . After its release , the Billy Crystal show received extremely divided responses , with critics almost unilaterally demoralise the show as boring , obtuse , and repetitive . The only part of the show they apprise is Billy Crystal , the lead member of thecast inBefore .
However , viewer were much more convinced about Before , praising the slow - suntan tempo and cardinal mystery story . One element that was n’t been discussed much by either mathematical group is the soundtrack of Before . The reason this has been all but ignored is because there are almost no songs in theApple TV+ original show , which is an unusual pick . Instead , Beforeprimarily uses a score that builds up the tenseness and suspense . Still , the few Sung dynasty that do appear in each episode have a stronger influence on the plot and characters .
